Quantities of Material Require to Construction a Building
Everybody is interesting to know the approximate quantities of material require from plan of the building. So the calculations may be done by following ” Thumb Rules “ describe below quantities may vary up to the extent of 10%.
Bricks ( Quantities of Material Require )
Considering the wall area of 1/5th of the total floor area, bricks at the rate of 2150 No. per sq.m of the wall area may be calculate.
Cement
It may be calculate applying ” Thumb Rules ” 6.5 bags per sq.m of the plinth area. Cement so calculate has provision for R.C.C slab, lintel, plastering, flooring and brick work in cement mortar.
Sand
Quantity of sand may be calculate @ 0.50 cu.m of the plinth area.
Coarse Aggregate
Coarse Aggregate may be calculate @ 15 to 17 % in cu.m per 100 sq.m of the plinth area.
Steel
Steel may be calculate @ 18 kg per sq.m of the plinth area.
Brick Aggregate
This is to be calculate at the rate of 10 cu.m per 100 sq.m of plinth area.
Woodwork in Frames and Shutters
Wood may be calculate @ 2.00 to 2.40 cu.m per 100 sq.m of plinth area.
Paint
To be calculate @ 11 litres per 100 sq.m of the plinth area.
Primer
To be calculate @ 7 litres per 100 sq.m of the plinth area.
Winding Wire
For every 100 sq.m slab approximately 27 kg of 18 gauge soft black iron wire is require or one kg per quintal of steel may be consider.
