Difference between Civil Engineer and Architecture
These two professions are generally similar. Yet, there are clear differences between civil engineer and architecture. As a matter of fact, they have well-defined roles that make them distinguishable from each other.
Civil Engineering
Civil engineering, also referred as structural engineering, specialise in the structural elements of systems, ensuring that facilities can withstand normal and extreme loading conditions. It work closely with architects and they are thus responsible for making the vision of architects into a realisation. Civil engineering deliberates on the physics, thus involved in the construction process of the architect’s design.
Architecture
Architecture is mainly a practice of designing structures thus with aesthetics and spatial functionality in mind. Architects may have the basic to advanced knowledge of structural mechanics but their primary focus is always, first and foremost, the creativity, look and feel, and functionality of the design. Architect and civil engineer is needed for different purposes. An architect cannot fulfil a civil engineers purpose nor can a civil engineer do that for an architect.

Education of Civil Engineer and Architecture
Civil Engineer
After a bachelor degree (B Tech/ BE/ Associate Membership Qualifications) the variety of jobs increases, for example, post of a structural designer can be after B Tech/ BE/ AMIE only. For a better future in design & analysis, research & development, hydraulics & fluid mechanics, soil mechanics and also environmental engineering etc. one should go for a master degree (M.Tech or ME). In academics, therefore doctoral and post-doctoral level programs have their own importance. Disciplines in master degree are above all hydraulics, soil mechanics, structures, hydrology, planning, environmental engineering etc.
Architecture
Certificate holders in architecture (ITI) can assist the architect as an assistant to architect. Diploma holders in architectural assistant ship can therefore go for assistant architect and drafts man posts. A B Arch/AMIIA degree holder can become an architect to work in planning and drawing for industry, residential or commercial buildings, landscape and so on. After that a master degree (M Arch/ MURP/ MCP/ M Plan/ M Tech (Planning)/ M Des/ AITP/ etc.) they can have more variety of jobs, personal consultancy management and scope for research and academics. In academics, doctoral and post-doctoral level programs have also their own importance. Disciplines in master degree however are urban design, industrial design, architectural conservation, planning, landscape architecture, building engineering & management, etc. Planning field has further more specialisations like transport planning, urban and regional planning, etc.
Salary
Salary is dependent on professional proficiency, subject knowledge, school of graduation, company and also need of the hour. Moreover, in general, civil engineers are equipping with more knowledge than architects in terms of complex mathematics, analysis and structural design and so they are paying more than architects. But it all depends on proficiency and innovative that can make you like La Corbusier.
